Dave Mason has canceled the rest of his 2025 tour as he continues to recover from an infection he sustained back in March.
Mason was supposed to be part of the Kansa/.38 Special Tour and to play Toyota Music Factory in Irving on July 20th.
He says, "I’m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors -- this has been challenging territory, to say the least.
A heartfelt thank you to all the fans, and to my family, band, agents, and the venues who’ve waited patiently and supported me throughout this journey. Your kind messages have lifted my spirits more than words can express. Recovery is a long road. My love for you all runs deep."
Mason postponed two shows on his 2024 fall tour due to vocal issues, and five days later he canceled the rest of the tour due to a heart condition. Then in November, he underwent heart valve replacement surgery, which was the same one Mick Jagger had in 2019.
He was scheduled to resume touring in March, but postponed the spring dates and was "hospitalized due to a serious infection that developed quickly."
In April, after spending a few weeks in the hospital, a source told us he was "resting and recovering at home and doing well. Still on the road to recovery but all is looking good so far!”
Nine years ago this past March 11th, in 2016, Mason passed out on stage in Morristown, New Jersey from dehydration due to the flu. When he made up the show in July of that year, he opened it by lying on the stage.
Mason is 79.
