Rush's Geddy Lee Talks Baseball and Books

Geddy Lee of Rush, who for many years has moonlighted as our baseball analyst, sat down to discuss this year's playoffs, starting with the best two-out-of-three Wild Card round, which gets under way today — Tuesday.

Starting in the American League, the Cleveland Guardians host the Detroit Tigers at 12:08 p.m., and Geddy says, "I think that's gonna be a really tough series."

The second game in the American League has the New York Yankees hosting the Boston Red Sox at 5:08 p.m.

In the National League, the first game is at 2:08 p.m. with the Chicago Cubs hosting the San Diego Padres, and Geddy was quick to say he's pulling for the Cubs.

And the final game of the day has last year's World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Cincinnati Reds at 8:08 p.m.

Rush singer and bassist Geddy Lee has two books being published today.

The first is his third book, 72 Stories From the Baseball Collection of Geddy Lee.

It was originally a limited-edition book given to those who bought items from his massive collection of baseball memorabilia when he auctioned them in July 2024.

But he was convinced by his publisher, HarperCollins, to turn it into a coffee table book along the lines of his first one, 2018's Big Beautiful Book of Bass.

With so many prized pieces of memorabilia, we asked Geddy how he went about choosing what items to write about.

Also being published today is the paperback edition of his 2023 memoir, My Effin' Life, which contains an appendix.
