The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has announced its Class of 2026. To be eligible for induction, artists are required to have released their first record 25 years prior to Induction.
Those that were elected for induction in the performance category are below.
Nominees in the "Performer Category":
Artists who have created music whose originality, impact and influence has changed the course of rock and roll.
Three first-time nominees were elected, while the second time was the charm for two, and the third for three others. Here's the eight artists who are headed in:
- Phil Collins - first nomination -- eligible for election since 2006, he was inducted as a member of Genesis in 2010
- Billy Idol - second -- eligible since 2006, and his guitarist Steve Stevens has also been elected
- Iron Maiden - third -- eligible since 2005
- Joy Division/New Order - third -- eligible since 2004
- Oasis - third -- eligible since 2019
- Sade - second -- eligible since 2009
- Luther Vandross (deceased) - first -- eligible since 2006
- Wu-Tang Clan - first -- eligible since 2018
The nine artists who were nominated but failed to garner enough votes are:
- New Edition - first in the Fan Vote
- Pink - (third)
- Shakira - (fourth)
- INXS - (sixth)
- Mariah Carey - (10th)
- Lauryn Hill - (11th)
- Melissa Etheridge - (13th)
- The Black Crowes - (14th)
- Jeff Buckley - (last at 17)
The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 14th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
It will not be broadcast live this year, but instead will debut in December on ABC and Disney+. Ticket on-sale information will be announced at a later date.
In 2027, the Induction Ceremony will return to Cleveland.
