New Music Alert; the Who...with a couple of "Live Debuts"

The Whodid their first two shows of the year Wednesday night at the PRYZM club in London -- an early and a late set.

Marking the 50th anniversary of their Live at Leedsalbum, the acoustic show was eight songs long and featured the debut performances of two songs off their latest album,Who-- "Break the News," written by Who rhythm guitarist Simon Townshend, and "She Rocked My World."

Holding a lyric sheet for "Break the News,"Roger Daltrey said, "I’m in the first stages of the dreaded late-70s... And the memory ain’t what it was. I’ve never sung this song before live. I might have to read it.… Simon is such a great songwriter. For years he’s done his songs at my solo shows, but it’s great to find a song that actually fits on a Who album. It fits really well. Let’s try it.”

The band is back at PRYZM again for two more sets on Friday, the 50th anniversary of their show at Leeds University.

The Who will then take a month off before resuming their Moving On!tour on March 16th in Manchester, England. The U.S. leg gets going April 21st in Hollywood, Florida.

Roger Daltrey, with Simon Townshend in his band, will perform aboard the Rock Legends Cruise, which sets sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on February 27th.
