R.I.P. Jon Dillon

Greetings everyone,

We, the Dillon family, are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved JD. Jon passed away peacefully Friday night surrounded by loved ones following his near decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s. To say it has been a long, arduous journey would be an understatement. He lived with the disease for many years happily at home with his wife Nancy as she looked after him. She did an absolutely phenomenal job as his sole care giver and went above and beyond what anyone could have reasonably expected of her, making sure Jon lived safely and comfortably. Her sacrifice should not go unnoticed. The pain and strife that our family has endured through this experience is inexplicable, and while we are hurting deeply in this moment, there is also a sense of great relief that JD can now finally rest peacefully.

We would like to thank our many friends and family for their love and support as we navigated these unchartered waters, and a special thanks to anyone who reached out or came to visit him over the years. We greatly appreciate it.

We understand JD was loved by many through his time on the radio and in the music industry, and hope that you all will remember him fondly as the larger than-life rock star that he was, because it certainly wasn’t an act. While he loved to be the life of the party, behind closed doors he was an immensely proud family man who cherished his loved ones above all else.

Our love goes out to anyone faced with this nightmarish illness and hope that we can all find the strength to persevere through these generally challenging times.

Peace and love to you all, Nick, Tyler, Kayla, Nancy and the entire Dillon and Urbanus family.
