Paul McCartney gets back to performing for the first time in close to three years as he starts his Got Back tour this Thursday (tomorrow) in Spokane, Washington.
Featuring a production that contains video clips from last year's Get Back Beatles documentary, he will play 16 shows that has him in arenas and stadiums through June 16th in East Rutherford, New Jersey -- two days before his 80th birthday.
McCartney says, “I said at the end of the last tour that I’d see you next time. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back!”
Spokane will be his first show since his Freshen Up tour wrapped up on July 13th, 2019 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
McCartney has posted a video combining rehearsal footage from this tour along with concert clips set to The Beatles' song "Get Back." At the end, and looking very much his 80 years, he says, "I'm really excited to see those happy faces. We try and bring them some peace, love and a little bit of joy in these dark days."
While we wait and see what he'll open up with, "Get Back" is certainly the obvious choice.
