Pearl Jam's Revolving Drummer, Lands on an Original; Dave Krusen

Pearl Jam called on an original member to fill in on drums since Matt Cameron is still sidelined with COVID.

Dave Krusen, who left Pearl Jam after recording Ten with them in the spring of 1991, was with them in Fresno, California Monday night. With Krusen on the kit, Pearl Jam did nine of the 11 songs on Ten, plus "State of Love and Trust" from the Singles soundtrack.

Krusen last played with Pearl Jam during their induction into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Like the shows in Oakland over the weekend, Pearl Jam touring member Josh Klinghoffer and Richard Stuverud filled in on drums during the rest of the set.

Eddie Vedder told the crowd that he was dealing with a serious stomach issue, so he'd need their help throughout the night. That issue led to two other members singing lead at times. Stone Gossard sang the obscure "Don't Gimme No Lip," and Klinghoffer led the band through "Purple Rain," a Prince and the Revolution cover he did with Vedder's solo band earlier this year.

Watch Vedder introduce Krusen and them play "Once" and "Why Go" on YouTube.
