Dead & Company is headed back to Mexico next year. The band just announced dates for their annual “Playing In The Sand” destination event. This year’s festival will go down at the Moon Palace Cancún in Rivera Cancún, Mexico January 14 – 17, 2023. It will feature three full performances from the band.
All-inclusive packages to the fest go on sale Friday, with past attendees having first dibs on reservations Thursday at 1 pm ET.
Dead & Company kicked off “Playing in the Sand” back in 2018, and returned again in 2019 and 2020. The 2022 installment was canceled due to the pandemic.
John Mayer has released a clip of him and his Dead & Company bandmate Bob Weir performing The Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” at Mayer’s recent Rise for the River benefit concerts in Livingston, Montana. They will do a second benefit on August 21st, which will be streamed through Nugs.net.
