As we told you, Jerry Lee Lewis passed away Friday at the age of 87 and now details about his funeral and public memorial have been released.
A funeral for the Rock and Roll and Country Hall of Famer is set for Saturday in his hometown of Ferriday, Louisiana, with Lewis’ cousin, reverend Jimmy Swaggart officiating along with Clyde Ray Webber. There will also public visitation on Thursday at Hernando Funeral Home in Hernando, Mississippi from 5 pm to 8 pm and then again Saturday at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
The funeral and public visitation will be limited, but fans will be able to livestream the funeral afterwards. Plus there will be a celebration of life for Lewis at the Arcade Theater. Check out all the details below:
The death on Friday of rock and roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis at 87 made him the final member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's inaugural class in 1986 to pass away.
His death has been acknowledged by many members of the Hall, particularly the next generation of musicians he helped inspire. Among them are Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton and Elton John.
Dylan paid tribute in song Friday night in Nottingham, England, doing Jerry's "I Can't Seem to Say Goodbye" to close out the show.
