Friday was declared "Billy Idol Day in Hollywood" as he was presented with the 2,743rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
After speeches by his friends, singer Henry Rollins and artist Shepard Fairey, Idol took the podium and thanked his fans, saying, "You are the best. Quite simply, I'm here today because of you, because of your love. You supported me all this time."
Idol's star, the first one unveiled this year, is located on Hollywood Boulevard in front of Amoeba Records.
The Hollywood Walk Of Fame has its first star of 2023… Billy Idol. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed the “White Wedding” rocker will became its 2,473rd star at a ceremony last Thursday (January 5th). “Since the beginning of his career Billy Idol has held the hearts of many of his fans who finally will be able to visit his star and witness his induction into the Walk of Fame,” said Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez.
Artist Shepard Fairey and punk rocker Henry Rollins were on hand to honor the former Generation X-rocker-turned-solo-legend. Idol’s star will land at 6201 Hollywood Blvd, right next to the legendary record store Amoeba Music.
