An apparent superfan of Ozzy Osbourne may not yet have her wish, but she certainly got a little closer to her goal. Helen Maidiotis has been petitioning to add “Sir” to the Black Sabbath legend’s name since 2013, and she’s finally received a response from the British government.
"As you are aware, Mr. Osbourne has been under consideration for an honour for a while," read a letter from the Department for Digital, Cultural, Media and Sport Honours. "Unfortunately to date he has been unsuccessful.” Explaining that competition for new titles is always fierce, the Department did give Maidiotis some hope.
“The fact that Mr. Osbourne is not recognized by an honor does not mean that his contribution is not appreciated,” the letter continued. “I can confirm his case remains under consideration at this time.” This last bit has inspired the fan to “keep pushing” and collect enough signatures to make Sir Ozzy a reality.
