John Lennon is the subject of yet another documentary, this one focusing on his split from Yoko Ono in the early '70s.
The Lost Weekend: A Love Story is told through the eyes of his then girlfriend, May Pang.
Working as John and Yoko's assistant, May says, “Yoko walked into my office and said, ‘John and I are not getting along. I want you to go out with him.'”
May protested, saying, “‘Are you kidding? I can’t do that, he’s my employer, he’s my boss. He’s your husband.'”
But her protests fell on deaf ears and the two started an 18-month relationship in what was known as Lennon's "Lost Weekend."
Lennon was May's first boyfriend, and their relationship came to an end on November 28th, 1974 when Lennon gave what turned out to be his final performance, joining Elton John at New York's Madison Square Garden.
In the audience and backstage afterwards was Yoko.
The Lost Weekend: A Love Story opens in theaters on April 13th.
In other Lennon-related news, Yoko Ono has moved out of their New York City apartment building, The Dakota, where he was killed on December 8th, 1980. She has moved to Upstate New York and the farm she and John bought in 1978.
