Paul McCartney is revisiting one of the most pivotal chapters of his career with Man on the Run – Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack, the companion album to the upcoming documentary Paul McCartney: Man on the Run. Arriving February 27th, the release offers an intimate, curated snapshot of McCartney’s creative rebirth in the 1970s, following the breakup of The Beatles and the rise of his band Wings.

The soundtrack pulls together 12 essential tracks spanning McCartney and Wings’ celebrated catalog, capturing the ambition, risk-taking, and reinvention that defined the era. Alongside beloved classics, the album includes three previously unreleased recordings: “Arrow Through Me (Rough Mix),” unearthed from the Back to the Egg sessions; “Live and Let Die (Rockshow)” from the 1980 concert film; and “Gotta Sing Gotta Dance,” originally featured in The James Paul McCartney TV Special.

Man on the Run – Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available in a range of physical and digital formats, including a limited edition New York Taxi Yellow vinyl pressed at Jack White’s Third Man Pressing plant, standard black vinyl, CD, and digital editions. Each vinyl version comes with a Man on the Run poster, and the artwork itself carries deep historical roots. Creative direction was led by McCartney alongside Aubrey “Po” Powell of Hipgnosis, with design by Peter Curzon of Storm Studios — reuniting the team behind some of Wings’ most iconic album covers.

The soundtrack arrives alongside Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, an intimate new documentary directed by Morgan Neville. The film chronicles McCartney’s transformative post-Beatles decade, weaving together rare archival footage, Linda McCartney’s photographs, and interviews with Paul, his family, Wings band members, and cultural icons including Sean Ono Lennon, Mick Jagger, and Chrissie Hynde. Neville’s approach focuses on McCartney’s willingness to make bold, sometimes baffling choices — from van tours to experimental projects — as he worked to escape the enormous shadow of The Beatles and rediscover his own artistic voice.

“Throughout the decade, Paul stopped running away from something and started running toward something else — his own voice, his own family, his own life,” Neville shared. The soundtrack, he explains, mirrors that journey, with each song reflecting who McCartney was at a specific moment in time. “It was through song that Paul spoke, not only to the world, but to himself.”

Streaming globally on Prime Video beginning February 27th, Man on the Run will also receive a one-night-only theatrical release on February 19th, 2026, featuring an exclusive bonus conversation between McCartney and Neville. Together, the film and its companion album stand as the latest chapter in the ongoing Wings renaissance — a celebration of an era when Paul McCartney made what once felt like an impossible dream come true.
