This Tuesday, March 28th, marks the 50th anniversary of the release of The Doobie Brothers' single "Long Train Running" off their third album, 1973's The Captain and Me.
The album's first single went on to become their first Top 10 song, peaking at number-eight.
In a recent interview, Randy Bachman noted a similarity between the Doobies' song and one of his own from Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
"Let it Ride" is on BTO's second album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, which came out in December 1973.
