The Classic Rock Rumor Mill is True, Announcing "Power Trip" October 6-7-8

The grounds of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, home to the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals, are adding one for hard rock and metal lovers.

Dubbed Power Trip, it will be held over three days in October -- the 6th, 7th and 8th -- with performances from AC/DCOzzy OsbourneMetallicaIron Maiden and Tool.

While the official announcement isn't until this Thursday, each of the acts have posted videos teasing their involvement.

Power Trip fills the void left empty since Desert Trip, the 2016 festival that featured Bob DylanPaul McCartneyThe Rolling StonesThe WhoRoger Waters and Neil Young.

Held over two weekends, Desert Trip was reportedly the single most lucrative American music festival with a gross of $160 million.

The classic rock rumor mill is spinning overtime following an announcement about this year’s Power Trip Festival. Blabbermouth speculates Metallica, Iron Maiden and the potentially un-retiring Ozzy Osbourne will co-headliner this year’s October event. Adding to the fire? All three groups shared identical posts touting the Power Trip fest. Stay tuned- the full line-up drops tomorrow (Thursday).

Announcing the inaugural Power Trip festival in October, Guns N' Roses will round out the line-up of AC/DCOzzy OsbourneMetallicaIron Maiden and Tool.

Sharon Osbourne, appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored, confirmed the line-up, saying her husband is "good. He's doing so much better... He's doing a show October 6th in America. It's at the Coachella site. It's gonna be a great show: Guns N' Roses, Metallica, AC/DC, Ozzy…"

It's the same format as 2016's Desert Trip -- two acts per night -- which had Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones on October 7th, 2016; Paul McCartney and Neil Young on the 8th; and The Who and Roger Waters on the 9th.

Power Trip, like Desert Trip, will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, home to the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals. However, no word if it will also be held over two consecutive weekends.
