Outspoken Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider is an admitted gun owner, but even he has had enough. The rocker was recently pressed on Twitter by fans who wanted to use “We’re Not Gonna Take It” for an anti-assault weapon protest, and Snider’s response was surprising.
“I am a gun owner,” the rocker began. “That said, HELL YEAH YOU CAN USE ‘WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT’ AS YOUR ANTHEM!” Snider gave his blessing to the use of the rebellious rock classic, affirming his belief that “Assault weapons were never meant for anything but combat!”
And he didn’t stop there. The Twisted Sister singer went on to clarify which kinds of recreational guns he and his family owned, and even made fun of people who own the weapons that have been tied to multiple mass killings, writing: “Assault weapons are for people who can’t aim.”
Sounds like Snider isn’t taking it anymore either. Give “We’re Not Gonna Take It” a listen on the right.
