Stairway to Heaven, on the List of Songs Going to the Library of Congress

One of rock’s most legendary songs has been recognized by the US government. Led Zeppelin’s iconic “Stairway To Heaven” is being added to the Library of Congress’ recording registry.

The Jimmy Page-produced classic is one of 25 songs the Library has added to this year’s selections. In a statement that praises every band member’s contribution, the Library specifically points to Robert Plant’s singing and Page’s infamous “tasteful” guitar solo. This year’s group of entries brings the Library’s tally of songs to 625 and includes fellow rock legends John Lennon ("Imagine") and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young ("Déja Vu").

Set aside eight legendary minutes and enjoy “Stairway To Heaven” on the right.
