E Street Band's Nils Lofgren Pays Tribute to Another Rolling Stone!

E Street Band and Crazy Horse guitarist Nils Lofgren has paid tribute in song to another member of The Rolling Stones on his forthcoming album, Mountains.

He says “Won’t Cry No More (For Charlie Watts)” is “a song about loss and perseverance… Without The Beatles, Stones, (JimiHendrix, this music of mine wouldn’t exist.

"I was so furious and hurt when Charlie Watts died [that] I turned to his music for solace, desperate for connection and inspiration through the grief. [I] needed his musical spirit to cope and found it. One raw riff to sing for him. Miss you, Charlie.”

Lofgren's first song inspired by a Rolling Stone was 1975’s "Keith Don't Go (Ode to the Glimmer Twin)," a tribute to Keith Richards.

Mountains will be released on July 21st..
