Elton John Is one step closer to another honor and an exclusive club.
His Disney+ special, Farewell From Dodger Stadium, has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
Should he win, he'd be one of a very select list to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar (Academy Award) and a Tony, collectively referred to as an EGOT. He has two Oscars, five Grammys and a Tony.
Among the musicians who have won all four awards are John Legend, Jennifer Hudson and Quincy Jones.
Commenting on the nomination, he says, "It’s an honor for my special to be recognized by the Academy.
"My final Dodger Stadium performance was bittersweet and an evening that I will never forget. My team, the producers and everyone at Disney+ went above and beyond to create a magical production, not only for me as I said goodbye to North America, but for my fans all over the world to enjoy for years to come!"
The Emmy Awards will be handed out on September 18th, live on FOX 4.
