Can you think of the most embarrassing moment to meet your idol? Well Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong certainly can. In fact, he met one of his idols in a rather compromising position.
Armstrong recalled meeting the legendary singer of The Who, Roger Daltrey, while Daltrey was fully naked. Armstrong recalled using a Vancouver hotel’s steam room before a gig, only to have the “Pinball Wizard” singer walk in “in all of his glory.”
The younger rocker admitted to thinking Daltrey was just “weird old naked guy” at first, but once he got a closer look he recognized The Who frontman. Daltrey, in turn, recognized Armstrong and said “Yo, you play in a band, you're in Green Day!” Hopefully that cut the tension.
