This Sunday, June 1st, is special for Ronnie Wood in two ways.
First, it's his 78th birthday. And second, it was 50 years ago Sunday, June 1st, 1975, that he did his first concert as a member of The Rolling Stones at the LSU Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
They did two shows that day, playing 22 songs at each. (Set lists below.)
Here he is reflecting on what he thought one of his roles would be when he joined the band.
Woody, who replaced Mick Taylor, was officially declared a member of the Stones on April 23rd, 1976, but he wasn't made a a full-fledged partner until 1990.
Prior to the Stones, he was the bassist in The Jeff Beck Group, and then the guitarist in The Faces, who he is currently working on a new album with.
He will sit in with Faces frontman Rod Stewart at the Glastonbury festival on June 29th.
