UPDATE TO BELOW STORY....
It's been 50 years since the release of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," and to mark the occasion, the band is releasing an expanded 50th anniversary edition. "Wish You Were Here 50" will include a truckload of extras fans will love: it will be available in 3xLP and 2xCD formats featuring alternate mixes and demos, or as a box set that also includes a fourth LP of live material recorded at Wembley Stadium, and a Blu-ray that gathers three concert films from the band’s 1975 tour, along with a short film by graphic designer Storm Thorgerson. The reissue comes out December 12th. Check out the tracklist below. Listen to a demo version of "Welcome To The Machine," originally titled "The Machine Song,"

Pink Floyd's ninth album, 1975's Wish You Were Here, was released 50 years ago this Friday, September 12th, 1975, and the band will be marking the anniversary, but exactly how remains to be seen.
When the album was released, it was wrapped in black plastic with a sticker saying what it was. So, as a tip of the hat to that packaging, they have posted a photo of the plastic wrap on their socials, and streaming sites such as Amazon, Apple and Spotify are displaying all their albums with that plastic motif and a label describing what they are.
This is no doubt Sony Music's way of starting to recoup some of the $400-million they spent last year on the band's catalog. Stay tuned for an official announcement this week.

David Gilmour attended the premiere last night of his new concert film, Live at Circus Maximus, Rome, at London's BFI Imax, the biggest movie screen in the U.K.
During a Q&A session he was asked if he had plans to play any modern venues, as opposed to the legendary and historic ones he did on last year's Luck and Strange tour.
"The Sphere?" Gilmour asked. "Well, you know, I'm hoping, one of these days, to go there and sit and watch myself doing it, which is something I've always wanted to do. My avatar, you know? So I don't actually have to get up and do it."
Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome will open in theaters and on IMAX screens worldwide on September 17th, followed by its release on numerous formats on October 17th.
