Foreigner's Deluxe Edition of 1981's '4' Out Today

Foreigner's deluxe edition of their best-selling studio album, 1981's 4is out today.

Along with the hits "Juke Box Hero," "Waiting on a Girl Like You" and "Urgent" and its seven other songs, this new set contains unreleased songs, early and alternate versions, instrumentals, rough mixes and live tracks.

One of the unreleased songs is "Fool If You Love Him," which was recently finished by the band's original singer Lou Gramm.

4 was not only the band's fourth album, but it was their first as a four-piece, having parted ways with keyboardist Al Greenwood and keyboardist and guitarist Ian McDonald after the previous album, 1979's Head Games.

Released on July 2nd, 1981, 4 spent 10 weeks at number-one on the Billboard 200, more than any artist in the history of Atlantic Records, including AC/DCThe Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. It has sold more than 10-million copies worldwide, including six-million in the U.S.

Looking back, band founder and guitarist Mick Jones says, "Recording our fourth album took the better part of two years. It was something that just had to be right and I truly believe that [producer] Mutt Lange, Lou, [bassist] Rick [Wills], [drummer] Dennis [Elliott], and I accomplished something very special. This package, and particularly the stunning Atmos mixes present a spectacular culmination of one of the most exciting periods of my life.”

The deluxe edition of 4 is available in numerous configurations, including CD, vinyl and Blu-ray.

Foreigner will play Choctaw Casino's Grand Theatre in Durant, Oklahoma October 3rd and 4th...and it's the last few shows with vocalist Kelly Hansen.

The current version of Foreigner will be joined by Lou Gramm for the Foreigner 4 Deluxe Tour in December.
