It's been a tough season for the Dallas Stars. In fact I can't remember a more frustrating campaign in recent history. The Stars have been plagues with injuries, illness and at times just plain bad luck.
One bright spot will be the return of Stars play-by-play announcer Dave Strader, who's set to return to the broadcast booth tonight, after missing the entire season (so far) while he battles cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that attacks the bile duct.
Thankfully Strader's treatment schedule has afforded him the opportunity to come back to Dallas and get back where he belongs, behind the mic calling Stars games. Strader said his doctors told him this is probably as important as any treatment.
Hopefully it will spark the Stars to victory as well.
Below are a list of games that Strader will call:
Dallas vs. Tampa Bay | Saturday, Feb. 18
Dallas vs. Arizona | Friday, Feb. 24
Dallas vs. Boston | Sunday, Feb. 26 (Radio only)
Dallas vs. Pittsburgh | Tuesday, Feb. 28
Dallas vs. New York Islanders | Thursday, March 2
