Dallas Votes In Favor Of New Cite-And-Release Policy For Marijuana Offenders

Well, they did it.

Last year the Dallas City Council killed the potential policy change, but this year it's a GO!

The council voted 10-5 in favor of a new policy for people caught with less than four ounces of marijuana. Instead of taking them to jail, they will now be required to give a thumbprint, and a court date.

Keep in mind possession of between two and four ounces is still considered a Class A misdemeanor, and could lead to a conviction and up to a year in prison plus a $4,000 fine.

But hey, it's a step in the right direction dont'cha think?
