Still hard to believe that Ken Hitchcock is the new head coach of the Dallas Stars.
I mean I love the idea, it's just so many memories come flooding back when I see him, and hear him talk.
Ken isn't just a great coach, he's also a great communicator and listening to the press conference this morning even I'm ready to head into battle with the guy.
It was great to see the support from current players like the Captain Jamie Benn, who Hitch had plenty of praise for, as well as Tyler Seguin, Jason Spezza and Dan Hamhuis.
Ken Hitchcock also brings an amazing resume back to the Stars. His all-time record is 781-474-199 in 1,454 career games coached over 21 seasons with Dallas, Philadelphia, Columbus and St. Louis.
He is also just one win away from tying Al Arbour for third on the League's all-time wins list.
Hitch has guided his teams to eight division titles, two Presidents Trophies, two Stanley Cup appearances and one Championship in 1999 with the Stars.
Too bad we have to wait until October for more meaningful games.
It will be interesting to see who he picks as his assistant coaches, as well as what the team does in the upcoming expansion draft, free agency, etc.
