Based on drummer Artimus Pyle's recollection of the tragic events surrounding the infamous plane crash that killed several members of the band, the Lynyrd Skynyrd biopic "Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash" has begun filming.
The shoot began in Los Angeles on Monday, with actors Neill Byrnes and Anthony Rocco Bovo portraying Aerosmith rockers Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. You may remember Aerosmith was supposed to fly the same plane, a Convair CV-300, but ultimately decided not to lease it.
Ian Shultis plays Artimus Pyle, Taylor Clift will be seen portraying the role of Ronnie Van Zant, with Samuel Kay Forrest as Steve Gaines, and Rich Dally III as Allen Collins.
The shooting of the film, both written and directed by Jared Cohn, begins on May 1.
