Just what the Cowboys didn't want to hear. Another potential suspension. This time promising defensive end David Irving. You may remember Irving did really well last season, especially in the final few games. He pressured the QB, forced fumbles, deflected passes. The big man was doing it all.
Well, as it seems he was also doing "IT" all too. The "it" is some sort of performance-enhancing drug, reports say it's some over-the-counter substance Irving used in an attempt to endorse the product. Well, the NFL has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to PEDs, so now Irving now faces a 4-game suspension.
You'd think guys would be smarter about these things, especially these days when a simple call to the training staff could have prevented this situation.
There's be an appeal filed on Irving's behalf last week, but if the suspension is upheld, Irving will be the Cowboys second defensive lineman penalized. Randy Gregory will miss the entire regular season for multiple violations.
