Dallas Stars Announce 2017-18 Season Schedule

It's always an exciting time when the Dallas Stars release the season schedule. It's Christmas in June for Stars fans. As the Public Address announcer for the Stars I personally can't wait to get back behind the mic for another season of player intros, goals, penalties and best of all "STARS WIN!!"

The 2017-18 Dallas Stars season begins on Friday October 6th at American Airlines Center versus the expansion Vegas Golden Nights. This will be the inaugural game for the Golden Nights, and I suspect we may see a Cody Eakin tribute video that night as well, as Eakin was selected by the Golden Knights in yesterday's expansion draft.

The Stars will then travel to St. Louis to kick off their road schedule on Saturday, Oct. 7 against the St. Louis Blues.

On Friday, Nov. 24 against the Calgary Flames, the Stars will retire the number 26 in honor of former Stars right wing Jere Lehtinen.

The annual New Year's Eve game at the AAC will be against the hated San Jose Sharks.

Games are also scheduled for next February, which confirms the league will not take a two-week break for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. It marks the first time since 1994 the NHL will not send their players.

All-Star Weekend will take place Saturday, Jan. 27 — Sunday, Jan. 28 in Tampa, Florida

Of the 41 home games, more than half (24) will be weekend contests (8 Friday, 13 Saturday, 3 Sunday).
