Dallas Stars Took On Young Heart Patient's Team In Make-A-Wish Game

You may remember the story of 10-year old Anderson McDuffie. He was born with a heart condition and had his second major surgery back in May of 2018. In the hospital, he helped cope during the recovery by pushing a foam ball around the hallways with his stick. It was hockey kept him going. Eventually, he got stronger and returned to the ice to play with his team "Team EKG"

Back in December, I had the privilege of announcing to Anderson (and everyone else inside American Airlines Center) that his Make-A-Wish had been granted! His team would face off against the Dallas Stars in a game at the StarCenter in Frisco, and today was that day!

See my announcement below, and scroll down for highlights from today's game.

Huge thanks to Sean Shapiro of The Athletic for this Twitter thread full of photos and video. Anderson and his teammates were treated like pros as they entered the arena. The game was full of action but in the end, Anderson scored the game-winning goal as Team EKG beat the Stars. Afterward, the team skated in celebration and even held a postgame press conference in the locker room. AWESOME!
