How DFW Voters Can Track Their Mail-In Ballots

A whopping 7.2 million Texans have already voted, and that number will only rise since there's still a few more days until early voting ends on October 30.

This also means that millions of Texans have already returned their absentee ballots or are preparing to do so. The best way to ensure that your ballot is counted is to mail it back as soon as possible.

If your ballot is postmarked by Election Day, November 3, it can be received at your local election office by 5 p.m. on November 4. If your ballot is not postmarked by that time or if you're hand delivering it, your local election office must receive it by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters in Texas can check online to see if their mail-in ballot has been received and counted. Unlike other states, Texas doesn't have one state-wide website where voters can check on the status of their ballot. Voters will have to check through their county's election site if offered.

Ellis, Kaufman, Parker, and Wise counties do not have a direct way to search for the status of your mail-in ballot. However, you can search through the Texas Secretary of State's Election Information & Turnout Data website to see if your ballot was received, but it's a little more complicated.

Go to https://earlyvoting.texas-election.com/Elections/getElectionEVDates.do and select the 2020 November 3rd Election, then search the date your mail-in ballot was likely received from the "Early Voting Turnout by Date" drop down list. It'll take you to another page where you can download the "Voter Details Report" for your county. Download the report and search for you name.

Members of the military and their families, and anyone out of the country can track their ballot on the FCPA Ballot Tracker.
