On This Day In 1987 Whitesnake Released Their Landmark Self-Titled Album

Released on this day in 1987, Whitesnake is the seventh studio album by Whitesnake. The album featured hits like "In The Still Of The Night," "Gimme All Your Love," as well as the power ballad, "Is This Love", and the number one hit "Here I Go Again." The album would go on to sell over eight million copies in the US and peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 for ten nonconsecutive weeks. In the UK the success of the album lead to the band receiving a nomination for the Brit Award for Best British Group in 1988.
